Once, a long time ago, there was a little boy named Gregory. Now, Gregory wasn't like other little boys his age. No, in fact there were two things that made him different from the others.

One of those things was that his parents didn't get along very well. You might even say, they didn't get along at all!

Almost every night, little Gregory would hear his drunk father come home and scream at his innocent, loving mother from his bedroom. And he would just lie there, listening to the bangs and glass breaking from the parlor.

But one night, it was different. Besides the normal sounds of his parents quarreling, Gregory's closet door began to shake and rumble in a manner as if something was trying to escape from the closet.

Little Gregory sat up, clenching his covers, observing his closet. It got louder, and louder, and louder, until......

    BANG!

The closet's rumbling was so loud that Gregory had not heard his father's footsteps approaching his bedroom door, and it nearly scared him out of his skin when his father slammed the door open.

"What is the meaning of that noise, Gregory!" his father yelled, the stench of alcohol on his breath.

" There is a monster in my closet!" little Gregory stammered.

" There is no such thing as monsters! Now go to bed!" His father then slammed the door again shut, heading back to the parlor to continue his nightly argument with his wife.

After many attempts, Gregory finally fell asleep. During the night Gregory woke up to the rumbling of the closet, but then he also heard a voice.

"Gregory...Oh Gregory...Let me out, please,"the raspy voice taunted from the closet.

Little Gregory, not being very wise, slowly approached the closet door. He was as pale as a ghost, and breaking into a cold sweat by that time. The voice had stopped taunting him and it grew silent. So silent, you could hear a pin drop to the floor.

Gregory slowly grabbed the doorknobs on his closet, closed his eyes, and opened the closet to..... nothing.

The closet was empty. Gregory, dumbfounded, looked in every nook and cranny of his closet.

Then BANG the closet doors slammed shut.

Gregory ran out of his bedroom as fast as he could and stopped in the hall at the sound of heavy breathing from behind him. He slowly turned around. Standing there, in the doorway of his bedroom, stood a little boy that looked like it could have been Gregory, if the boy wasn't so dark.

Gregory quickly covered his eyes and began to shake. Then he slowly uncovered them to discover the boy had disappeared. Then he heard his father throw his mother into the parlor door and quickly turned around to see that his mother was lying on the floor with her head bleeding.

His father soon appeared before him, his skin red with rage, the stench of alcohol consuming his body.

" What are you doing out of bed, Gregory!"

    " The monster...it's...it's"

" I told you you dumb boy. There is no such thing as monsters! You know, you are just like your mother. Stupid!"

Gregory turned away heading towards his bedroom, his eyes twitching. "Don't you walk away from me boy!" Gregory's father chased after him.

Gregory ran to his bedroom and slammed the door. His father had appeared not a moment later, and slowly opened the door.

"Gregory?! Where are you!" he shouted.

The closet door closed, and Gregory's father opened it slowly. He heard heavy breathing and turned to see Gregory with his face covered, sobbing in the corner of the closet.

"There you are!" his father shouted.

Gregory then uncovered his face to reveal a hideous monster. It had two abnormally large black and yellow eyes. It's mouth was full of hideously sharp, jagged, and broken teeth, so that's its errie grin stretched from ear to ear.

It's head had patches of Gregory's fine light brown hair. It had pale, green skin, and its flesh was so thin you could see the outline of the skull.

The creature shrieked and jumped on Gregory's father and bit into his neck with its razor sharp teeth. Gregory's father began to gush blood, and he stared in horror at the sight before him.

"You're...you're... a MONSTER!" his father stammered.

"I thought you said monsters weren't real?" the creature said in it's raspy voice.

Gregory's father gagged on his own blood and then died.

The creature cackled and then turned back into Gregory's normal form. Then Gregory heard his mother wake up in the other room.

Gregory went to his mothers side and hugged her tight, closed his eyes and smiled.

"What happened to your father?" his mother asked.

"Don't worry mom," Gregory said,"he won't be bothering us any more. Not any more."

Gregory opened his eyes, to reveal the dark black yellow color of the creature's eyes.
